Caramels



2 c white sugar
2 c white corn syrup
3 c whipping cream
1 can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk


Combine in heavy pan first 2 ingredients.  Bring to a boil, stirring constantly--until temp. reaches 228 degrees.
While this is cooking, combine in a double boiler next 2 ingredients.  Heat.  Add 1/3 cup of this mixture every time temp reaches 226 degrees, stirring constantly.  After all cream is in, cook to 226 degrees for carmels or 224 degrees for turtles.  Pull off heat.  Add nuts if desired, and put in greased 13" x 9" cake pan.  Let stand 12 hours before cutting.
